I was getting my hair done one day when my hairstylist mentioned how much she and her husband love to grill pineapple. Well my ears perked up at the sound of that, I had heard of grilled peaches but never this so of course I had to try it.
I love pineapple and grilling it just takes it to another level.
It’s the perfect side dish for the flank steak that we love! It’s quickly become a regular weekend side dish here. I think this would be fantastic over vanilla ice cream too as a dessert after a BBQ. I haven’t tried that yet but I plan to before summer ends and the best part it’s really simple to make.
Pineapples contain lots of Vitamin C, Potassium and can help strengthen the immune system. What’s not to love about this fruit? I noticed when we grill it my tongue doesn’t get that weird feeling like when I eat it raw. If you like pineapple I highly recommend you try this!!
Grilled Pineapple
6-8 Pineapple Spears (cut your own or make it easy and get the precut ones)
1/4 cup butter melted
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup brown sugar
Mix the cinnamon and brown sugar with the butter and pour over the pineapple. Toss gently to coat. Grill until caramelized and warm.
Serve as a side dish for your meal or over ice cream.
Have you grilled any fruits before? Do you have a favorite? Let me know in the comments.
