It’s the last weekend of summer vacation and that calls for some freshly baked Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars! If you haven’t read my about me yet than you have no idea how much I love a fresh from the oven chocolate chip cookie. They’re one of my favorite things to bake and eat! Until I discovered the amazingness of making my chocolate chip cookies into a bar. These bars are a perfect back to school treat too!!
These taste amazing right out of the oven or even a few days later.
You can add anything you want, different flavored chips, nuts, and candy. I myself am a purest and just like chocolate chips.
Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
Adapted from Tollhouse
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 325° F.
Grease a 9×13 pan and set aside
Mix flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl and set aside
Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large bowl and mix together well.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Gradually mix in flour mixture until well combined. Then add the chocolate chips and mix them enough to distribute through the dough.
Spread dough evenly into the prepared 9×13 pan
Bake for 30 mins until bars are golden brown, you will see the dough start to puff up and the edges pull away from the pan. Cool in pan.
But don’t cool all the way these things were meant to be enjoyed warm!
