September Favorites….

Hey Guys!!

Wow!! Where did Spetember go? It’s the last Wednesday of the month and that means it’s time for my monthly favorites. I can’t believe how quickly it went by, remember when we were kids how time seemed to stand still and now as we get older it flies by, maybe we’re all just having more fun!

September was a great month, my oldest turned 13 and apple and pumpkin everything started popping up everywhere. The scents of Fall are just so good and I found some great home decor pieces. It was not easy to narrow my favorites down to just a few but I did it!

The weather was a bit confusing with the month starting with some glorious 40 degree mornings up until mid month we went back to 80’s and humidity. It was the awful! My husband and I like to walk in the mornings before we start are day and even before 6am it was gross out. I’m hoping Fall decides to return with some cooler temps soon!

I have some fun favorites this month….

One of  my favorite Fall candle scents this month was Bath and Body Works Heirloom Apple. This has notes of honey crisp apple which just make the whole house smell like an orchard on a warm Fall day.

IMG_3587.jpgWhile keeping on with some fabulous apple scents my favorite cleaning products this month have been Mrs Meyers Dish Soap and All Purpose Cleaning Spray in the Apple Cider scent. This is limited edition and can sometimes be found at Target but they sell out fast, you can also order right from the Mrs Meyers website here. It’s selling quick, last I checked the dish soap was still available so if you want this scent go now! I’ll wait!!

So it’s really hard to narrow down my favorite home decor finds this month because there were some good ones. I have to say one of my absolute favorites is my Rae Dunn Flour Canister. I was so excited to accidentally stumble across this. I really hope to find the other canisters especially the TEA one and maybe a matching TEA mug too!! I am obsessed with tea so that would just make my day!

Speaking of tea I know I love my green tea which I will never give up but everyone this time of year is talking Pumpkin Spice Lattes and I personally don’t drink alot of milk, so I don’t really get those very often. I came across the Tazo Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea and it’s pretty good. It’s a nice milk free replacement to the dairy heavy pumpkin spice latte. It’s full of warming spices too. While it won’t replace my beloved green tea if your looking for something to replace the PSL you might want to try this.

IMG_4363.JPGMy favorite clothing item this month is these tops I found at Old Navy, they were $19.99 with 20% off. They are heavier than a t-shirt with a weight of a light sweater but wear like a tee. Does that make sense? haha! They have a nice loose fit making them perfect for skinny jeans and can be dressed up or down. The scarves I showed in Mondays round up would work wonderfully with these shirts too! They come in a variety of colors, I got the burgandy, blue/green, gray and black and white stripe. I actually wish they came in some more colors. You can find them here.

My favorite hair product this month is the Kenra Leave In Curl Styling Conditioner, you can find it at Ulta.  This conditioner is so hydrating my curls love it, in the few months I’ve been using this it has quickly become one of my must have products.

I also wrote an in-depth review in a previous post if you want to learn more about this and other Kenra products.

I have two favorite sweet treats this month, the first has been the Triple Chocolate Kit Kats, I got them at Target when I was getting some Halloween candy. If you like KIt Kats this just brings them up a notch!

The other has been Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies, these are so good and are loved by everyone here. You can find the recipe here.

My favorite read this month was The Lake of Dead Languages by Carol Goodman, this is one of those books that keeps you guessing and has you trying to figure out the ending before you even get past the first few chapters. It draws you in and makes you want to keep reading. It’s about a woman who after a divorce returns to a boarding school she once attended but this time as a Latin teacher. While she was a student there both of her room mates committed suicide. Now that she has returned strange things are happening again. If your looking for a great pre Halloween suspense book this is a great pick!

This time of year I love watching movies with my family, every Saturday night we get pizza and watch a movie in our Home Theater. It’s so much fun to have this time as a family and make these memories. I hope that someday I hear about the boys carrying on this tradition with their families. It seems fitting to have a favorite movie this month which hands down is The Conjuring!! It follows one of the case files of Ed and Lorraine Warren who were famous paranormal investigators. I watch this multiple times from now until Halloween and if you love scary movies and haven’t seen it I highly recommend it!

  1. Good stuff, Jennifer!! I’m actually heading to both B&BW and Target today, so I’m excited to look for both the candle and dish/cleaning soap. Thanks for all the tips. 🙂 ~ D.
