My Favorite Hand & Skin Lotions To Fight Winter Dryness

Hey Guys!!

Let’s talk lotions today!

I don’t know about you but I wash my hands a lot and when I’m not washing them I’m using those alcohol based hand sanitizers which often leads to dry hands. In Maine the weather is really cold in the winter and we’re going in and out from cold to heated houses or buildings which can zap the moisture out of your skin.

I’ve tried lots of different brands searching for the perfect one to help and have found three holy grail products that over the years of searching have become my favorites for combatting dry skin.

The first is Kielh’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve  which is amazing, I have a bottle of it in every bathroom as well as one downstairs by the kitchen sink. I like to put a little on my hands before I put my dishwashing gloves on, the warm water helps enhance the moisturizing effects though the gloves, it’s like a mini spa treatment for your hands while doing the dishes.

I always have super dry hands in the winter and this lotion is amazing, it’s super thick and hydrating. You can find it on the Kiehls website and also Sephora. It comes in two sizes 2.5oz for $15 and 5oz for $22. I keep the 2.5oz tube in my purse and larger ones around the house. They last a while because a little goes along way, this is one of those products I would pay double for because it’s so good.

If you get dry hands at all or your hands split because of dry skin you will love this lotion, its amazing!

My second favorite lotion is First Aid Beauty’s Ultra Repair Cream. this isn’t as thick as the Kiehls hand lotion but it can be used on more than just your hands. It’s also free of all the chemicals often found in products, like parabens, sulfates and phthalates. First Aid Beauty is also a cruelty free company.

This is great for windburned cheeks after being outside or for dry itchy skin that often comes with the colder weather. It’s extremely gentle and can be used for anyone in your family all the way down to the cute little babies and is also safe for sensitive skin.

The Ultra Repair Cream comes in three different sizes,  I usually buy a couple of the 2oz ones for $12 and keep them around the house. I love to use this on the boys cheeks when they come in from a day of ice fishing and have windburn. It always gives immediate relief and it’s also wonderful for your elbows and legs when they get dry.

The small bottle lasts a while unless you want it for everyday then I would consider the 8oz for $36.

My favorite body lotion is Soap & Glory’s Smoothie Star Body Buttercream. The scent of this lotion alone is amazing, the pistachio, almond and coconut oil, shea butter, and cocoa butter all combine to give amazing results and scent.

I first discovered this body lotion a few years ago and it’s quickly become a must have holy grail product for me. I use it all year round because it does such a wonderful job of keeping my skin well hydrated.

It’s thicker than a lotion and more of a body body, it definitely has a luxurious feel.

I always order this from Ulta for $15 and they often run a buy 1 get 1 50% off promo which I always take advantage of because I love to have a back-up.

If your on the search for some good moisturizers I recommend you try one of these, they’re all so good I couldn’t narrow it down to just one.

Also one of the best ways to help with dry skin is to stay well hydrated so always make sure your drinking lots of water!
